The announcement of the Megxit, at the beginning of 2020, shook the British monarchy. A year after his change of life, Prince Harry would still be “distraught by the royal fracture”.

The year 2020 was a particularly trying year for the British royal family. In addition to the coronavirus pandemic and the Brexit, the monarchy had to deal with the announcement of the Megxit on 8 January.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to distance themselves from the royal family and set down their suitcases in the United States. A decision that tore the British people apart, but also marked fractures within this high-profile family.

More than a year after the Megxit, Prince Harry would still be overwhelmed by this distancing from his loved ones. ITV News presenter Tom Bradby shared details in an interview with Alan Titchmarsh and said the couple were “satisfied” with their life in California but Harry was “distraught over the royal divide”. Tom Bradby has known Harry very well since he was a teenager and even filmed a documentary about Harry and Meghan’s African tour in 2019.

They are satisfied

This relative of Archie’s father also made a point of refuting some rumours and continued: “I think they feel better, yes. I mean, there have been a lot of things that have happened over the last year that I can’t talk about and I don’t want to talk about, and a lot of what has been said is untrue”.

The presenter finally concluded: “So, are they unhappy? No, I think they are satisfied. The things they do really excite them”. Nevertheless, he pressed the point that Prince Harry is heartbroken: “I think he is upset about the situation with his family.

You don’t necessarily have to have knowledge to know this, but I think it’s true.” Archie’s parents are planning to return to London for the 95th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II on June 12th. Will tensions have eased by that date?
