Two years ago, on May 19, 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married. During their carriage ride, the groom slipped a rather comical phrase to his wife.
The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will undoubtedly remain one of the most beautiful weddings ever celebrated in history. Remember, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, Princess Diana’s son and the American actress who was still an actress passed the ring on their fingers in front of members of the British monarchy, their relatives, an audience of celebrities and hundreds of millions of television viewers, who followed the event on their television screens.
Immediately after the ceremony, the newlyweds were driven in a royal carriage. With smiles on their faces, they rode through the city in front of the greeting crowd before returning to Windsor Castle for the reception.
In the book Finding Freedom, which has recently shaken the British Royal Family, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand made revelations about the moment Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent in the famous carriage.
“As Meghan raised her hand to her chest, she had only one word in her mouth when she saw the huge crowd gathered in front of Windsor Castle: ‘Wow!’,” they wrote. Once sitting quietly in the carriage, Prince Harry is said to have slipped an astonishing little phrase to Meghan Markle, as reported in the Sun.
“Sitting in the carriage next to his wife, Harry joked that his pants were ‘too tight,'” the writers wrote. On what was surely the happiest day of his life, Prince Harry wore a navy blue uniform, designed by the London tailor on Savile Row, Dege & Skinner.
Unpublished photos
On May 19, 2020, new photos of the union of Prince Harry and Meghan were unveiled to celebrate their two-year anniversary. On his Twitter account, journalist Omid Scobie, reporter at Harper’s Bazaar and specialist in crowned heads, had shared four unpublished black and white photos of Archie’s parents’ wedding.
The first photo showed Meghan Markle from behind in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. The second photo showed Princes William and Harry walking down the steps of a staircase, smiling at the camera. The third picture showed Meghan Markle signing the wedding register with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. Finally, the last shot was taken during the official photos of the married couple, in front of photographer Alexi Lubomirski’s lens.
