On Monday, August 31, for the 23rd anniversary of Diana’s death, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle planted forget-me-nots, which was her favorite flower, in a school garden in Los Angeles.

Meghan and Harry once again appeared in Los Angeles, where they bought a large villa last June. On August 19, the couple who officially left their royal duties in the spring visited Dr. Owen Lloyd Knox Elementary School as part of a day organized by the Baby2Baby Association.

That day, at the dawn of the new school year, school supplies, books, backpacks, clothing, food and hygiene items for the students were distributed.

On Monday, August 31, it was always against the backdrop of the back-to-school season that Meghan and Harry made a notable appearance in Los Angeles. While the Sussex met many children, they especially paid a magnificent tribute to Princess Diana who passed away 23 years ago, on August 31, 1997.

As revealed on Twitter by Victoria Murphy, royalty specialist for the American television show Good Morning America, Archie’s parents planted forget-me-nots in memory of Prince Charles’ ex-wife. Meghan and Harry spent all morning planting forget-me-nots in the garden of the Preschool Learning Center in Los Angeles. This flower was Diana’s favorite.

A statue in homage to Diana in 2021

If Prince Harry paid homage to his mother on his side and away from his brother William, the latter still managed to agree that a statue should be erected in 2021.

After years of various disagreements, a document published this Friday, August 28 announced the realization of this project. “The statue that Prince William and Prince Harry commissioned, to commemorate their mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales, will be installed next year, on the occasion of what should have been her 60th birthday,” we read in the official document.
