Two years after their marriage, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrate their leather wedding anniversary this Tuesday, May 19. An event they celebrated with their family, in all simplicity.
In November 2016, Meghan Markle and Harry made their romance official. A year later, they announced their engagement. The relationship resulted in a majestic and well-attended wedding on May 19, 2018, in St. George’s Chapel in England. At the time, the bride and groom had set their sights high for this unforgettable day.
Indeed, the former actress had opted for a beautiful wedding dress by Givenchy, and very strict rules had been imposed on their guests to limit overflow. During the evening, the wedding cake “quintessence of spring and Great Britain” had made its mark, as had the private party that lasted all night. On May 19, 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their leather wedding anniversary.
Simplicity was the watchword
Due to the health crisis, the lovebirds had no choice but to spend this day in simplicity. So, as one of their close friends told Vanity Fair, they celebrated their second wedding anniversary “quietly” and “as a family”. “They will disconnect, enjoy each other, their son Archie, and look back on the past two years,” he added. Last year, they celebrated their union by unveiling unpublished photos of the big day, surrounded by their son Archie who was born thirteen days earlier. Their marriage was a crucial step in their lives, as they were already thinking about emancipation from the British Royal Family.
