Shortly before announcing to the world that they were expecting their second child, Meghan and Harry warned Queen Elizabeth II. It was a family announcement in the manner of Sussex.
This is THE good news of this beginning of the year. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed that they were expecting their second child. Almost two years after the birth of little Archie and while the Duchess of Sussex miscarried last summer, this pregnancy heralds a beautiful year 2021. In a statement reported by journalist Chris Ship, Buckingham Palace said the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the whole family were “delighted” to learn of the arrival of a new baby, just days after Princess Eugenie’s birth.
The announcement of Meghan Markle’s pregnancy was made on Sunday 14th February, and the royal family had not been told for a long time. According to Chris Ship, Queen Elizabeth II was informed “shortly before the announcement was made public”. This is further proof that the couple who now live in Santa Barbara are committed to their independence and intend to dictate their own rules.
A definitive break with the royal family
This second pregnancy will be lived far from the royal family and should even mark a real break with the royal family. As the Daily Mirror reports, this royal baby is due to be born in the United States in September and this would mark a point of no return with the royal family. Indeed, it would be the Queen’s first great-grandchild to be born outside of England. In addition, Meghan and Harry should not apply for royal titles for their second child, as they did after Archie’s birth.
