According to him, she will hand over the monarchy to Prince Charles when she reaches the age of 95, i.e. from 21 April 2021.
“I don’t think she will want to, but realistically she will get to the point where she has handed everything over to Charles. How do you look her son in the eye and tell him he’s not going to be king,” he explained. This comes as the UK prepares to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Lady Diana’s interview with BBC Panorama. The princess had suggested that she was more powerful than the queen.
