In a special interview aired this Sunday, March 7 on the American channel CBS, Prince Harry made surprising revelations about his life since his break with the royal family.

The revelations never stop raining. This Sunday, March 7th, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared in front of Oprah Winfrey in an interview event broadcasted on the American channel CBS. For two hours, the couple discussed their departure from the United Kingdom and the ordeal they went through following their official wedding on May 19, 2018. Saddened, Prince Harry spoke about his troubled relationship with his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William. He revealed that he had been “completely abandoned financially” by the Prince of Wales, and had only been able to leave the United Kingdom thanks to the money bequeathed by his mother, Lady Di.

“I felt her presence throughout the whole process. (…) We live on the money my mother left me. Without it, we would not have been able to leave,” the Duke told CBS. “So, looking back, it’s as if she sensed it.” He added that according to him, the Princess of Wales would have been “angry” and “very sad” to see her family torn apart like that. “All she ever wanted was for us to be happy,” he told Oprah Winfrey.

Financial independence for Harry and Meghan

According to the Duke of Sussex, the royal family justified its decision to cut him off by the presence of his wife Meghan Markle, whom the Crown allegedly could not afford to support. “Some have suggested that Meghan had to continue her acting career because there wasn’t enough money to support her,” the 36-year-old prince revealed. Since their departure from the UK and their break with the royal family, Harry and Meghan have definitively become financially independent. In particular, they have signed contracts with major American entertainment companies, including Spotify and Netflix, for which they will produce podcats, films, series and documentaries.
