Meghan Markle and Harry: How Covid-19 weighed heavily on their move to California

0

It’s been a year now since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left England and moved to California, where they hoped to break into Hollywood. Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, things are not going as planned for Sussex.

In March 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a heavy decision. That of packing up England in order to exile themselves in the United States far from the royal family, the media pressure and their royal commitments. Under the sun of Los Angeles, the parents of Archie intended well to take a new departure by going in particular to the conquest of Hollywood.

But that was before the coronavirus pandemic put a stop to their great ambitions. Instead of spending a year developing their new business in California, the Sussex family was forced to stay home because of health restrictions in the country. While many shoots were halted, many productions were halted and most social events such as red carpets had to be cancelled, Meghan and Harry struggled to get their Hollywood projects up and running, which were only delayed.

However, the couple has already signed two golden contracts with two streaming giants none other than Netflix and Spotify for which they plan to develop documentaries, films, series and podcasts. A much-awaited content that hasn’t been seen yet. So we will certainly have to wait until the virus is more under control before discovering Meghan and Harry’s work. It should be noted that the latter are also actively working in favor of their Archewell foundation created last October.

Prince Harry disinherited?

By renouncing his royal functions but also by moving away from the royal family, Prince Harry has also accepted to lose some of his privileges, among which the financial advantages of the Crown. Thus during their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday March 7, the Sussex couple took stock of their financial situation and Harry revealed that the royal family had “cut him off”.

Following the Megxit, the young parents were able to rely on Lady Diana’s inheritance to get by before signing their deals with Netflix and Spotify. “We live off the money my mother left me. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to leave. So, looking back, it’s like she had a premonition,” said Prince William’s brother.
