Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not make their decision lightly. The couple, who left the royal family last March and started a new life in Los Angeles, continues to intrigue over the origin of this great decision.
If Meghan Markle was initially considered to be the originator of the “Megxit”, Harry would also have played an important role in this choice. The forthcoming biography, Finding Freedom, which the Sun on Sunday was able to consult, reveals that Harry would be at the origin of this new life, the preparation of which had long since begun.
The couple would have envisaged this great turning point even before their wedding on 19 May 2018. “Unhappy for a very, very long time,” Harry “has been thinking for more than a year” about leaving the royal family, according to a source in the newspaper edition.
On the book that will come out on August 11th and will “explore the journey” experienced by Meghan Markle and Harry up to their decision, a Sun source said: “It will make it clear that they took some time before they made that decision (…) The seeds of Mexgit were sown even before their marriage. The truth is that Harry had been unhappy for a long time”.
A long discussed decision
“They discussed at length the possibility of going in another direction before their union,” the source added. While Meghan Markle was reportedly more worried about the consequences of this radical decision, one of the authors of the book, journalist Omid Scobie, told The Heir Pod that he had “seen the couple remain faithful to their own convictions and stand firm in the face of adversity.
