The woman who accuses the press group of violating data protection and copyright law was allegedly… helped to write her letter to Thomas Markle. That’s what court documents consulted by the Sun reveal. Indeed, elements of the file indicate that the letter would not be of his “own intellectual creation”. A fact that, if true, could change the course of the case.
While Meghan Markle has been granted a stay of proceedings, these new revelations could shatter the Duchess of Sussex’s defence. According to lawyers for Associated Newspapers Limited, the letter was “copied” from an electronic draft.
The Kensington Palace communications team “contributed to the drafting” of the letter. “It is up to the plaintiff to prove that it was the only person to have contributed to the writing of the electronic draft,” the defendants now demand.
Charges against Meghan Markle
All these elements contribute to strengthen the defense of the press group. The group also accuses Prince Harry’s wife of disclosing details of the letter to friends for praise in the media. If the documents continue to pile up on the judge’s table, the trial is not expected to conclude until the fall of 2021, as requested by Meghan Markle.
