Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have always had a complex relationship. With Prince William and Prince Harry at odds, the Duchess of Cambridge found herself in a particularly uncomfortable position when it came time to welcome her sister-in-law, as explained in the documentary Meghan and Harry the Real Reasons for Their Departure, which aired on RMC Story on Tuesday, October 6 at 9:05 pm.
The first meeting was therefore disastrous. We knew it, but we learn more every day. To get to know Meghan Markle better, Harry’s promise and future recruit of the royal family, Kate Middleton had invited her in a lounge of Kensington Palace. The exchange was so frosty that some people compare it to a job interview today.
Speaking from the documentary Meghan and Harry the real reasons of their departure, broadcasted on RMC Story this Tuesday, October 6th at 9:05 pm, the royal chronicler Bertrand Deckers believes he knows Kate’s state of mind at the time: “She is not alone, it is said that a few meters further on, there is one of her assistants who keeps a file on which her name will be written”. In other words, Kate Middleton would have seen fit to secretly compile a file containing a multitude of information about her future sister-in-law…
An affront for Meghan Markle who will never forgive Kate Middleton for having welcomed her so badly. “Meghan hoped that Kate would help her as a sister-in-law, because Kate was the only person in this family who knew what it was like to be a newcomer, a patch, it wasn’t that far off for her. For Meghan, it would have been invaluable, and it would have changed a lot of things,” Omid Scobie comments in his biography Meghan and Harry, Free.
Kate has always sided with William, suspicious of Meghan
Despicable Kate Middleton? The Duchess of Cambridge has always been mistrustful. One thing is certain, she will always take the side of her husband, Prince William, who had already expressed doubts about the actress. The two women will never meet again in private.
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton appeared far too different anyway. A good student of the Crown, the Duchess of Cambridge never appreciated the independence displayed and claimed by the Duchess of Sussex. Now separated by thousands of miles, they will no longer need to pretend to get along.
