While several people had lost their jobs as a result of Megxit, the Sussex made the decision to rehire several employees. In a complex economic context, this gesture shows the generosity of the couple.
By leaving the United Kingdom, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry not only gave up a leading role in the royal family. They also laid off no fewer than 13 people who worked for them. But with Sussex now financially independent and overwhelmed by the proposals, they decided to turn back the clock.
Sources Meghan and Harry are reported to have made the decision to rehire Clara Loughran and Beth Herlihy, two young women who had lost their jobs due to the megxit last March.
For several months, and now that they are comfortably settled in California, the Sussex have hired several people to work in their foundation called Archewell but also to integrate their communication team.
Among these newcomers, two are not completely unknown since Clara Loughran and Beth Herlihy are former staff members of the palace. They are now hired as freelancers to work on charity projects in the UK on behalf of the Sussex people.
Prince Harry’s Loyalty
Clara Loughran had been at the Prince’s side since 2015, organizing his official engagements and elaborating his charitable projects. She is also the wife of Nick Loughran who is none other than the Prince’s former assistant secretary for communication.
Beth Herlihy worked for 4 years as Events Coordinator at the Royal Foundation, which Harry launched with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. After the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, she took over responsibility for the Sussex program. With this gesture, Prince Harry shows that he has not forgotten those who have worked so long at his side.
