With their hands on their hearts, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave a helping hand to a New Zealand charity. In the name of their son, Archie, they donated hats to those in need.
For Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, no gift is too good. Especially during this holiday season, which is full of pitfalls. Aware that this year has pushed millions of people into extreme poverty, the Crown rebels contacted Make Give Live, a New Zealand charity.
According to revelations in the New Zealand Herald, reported by Harpers Bazaars, the former Sussex rebels offered them a generous donation: a substantial sum that enabled them to make a hundred handmade woolen hats and caps. An order which, by the way, was placed in the name of their son, Archie.
In the columns of the New Zealand daily newspaper, the founder of the organization, Claire Conza, explained the importance of this donation. “As Make Give Live operates in the following way: one hat bought, one offered, this will allow the group to make 200 additional hats to be distributed to families in need next winter through the various charities it supports,” she explained.
The gift from Meghan Markle and her husband was described as “a wonderful gift”. More than grateful, the association has added a layer to her Instagram account. On Tuesday, December 15, she shared a lovely portrait of Archie and Prince Harry. Father and son were wrapped in their cozy coats and hats. “We’re thinking of you, Archie. We’d like to send you a Christmas card and thank your mom and dad for choosing to highlight the work we do,” reads the caption of her publication.
A nice helping hand
This is not the first time Meghan Markle and Harry have been generous with the Make Give Live organization. On New Year’s Day, January 1st, Archie’s parents revealed a photo of their toddler in Canada, which has since been deleted.
The little boy, a true fashion icon, was wearing one of their hats at the time. Since the publication of this picture, the association’s sales have reportedly increased tenfold. “This year we donated over 3,500 hats to people in need,” said Claire Conza of the New Zealand Herald.
