Meghan Markle and Harry: finally a victory against the paparazzi

0

Last July, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against paparazzi who had illegally photographed their son Archie at their Los Angeles home. One of the photo agencies has just denounced itself and made its mea culpa to the Sussex couple.

A first battle won! Anxious to preserve the intimacy of their son Archie, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had filed a lawsuit last July, claiming that an individual had photographed their little boy then 14 months old in their private residence in Los Angeles during the lockdown. The Sussex couple had claimed an invasion of privacy. They have now won their case.

Their lawyer, Michael Kump, has announced that the photo agency in question, X17, has apologized to the young parents and agreed to pay part of their legal fees, according to our colleagues at The Sun. But that’s not all.

The agency responsible for this unfortunate intrusion also agreed to give the photos to the family and to destroy any copies in its archives or databases. In addition, the X17 agency has agreed to never again take photos of the couple or their son in their private residence or environment.

Telephoto lenses, drones and helicopters

Photographers seemed to be willing to do anything to get a precious shot of the Queen of England’s great-grandson. While they had put up imposing fences around the property they were renting in Los Angeles, the Sussex couple had noticed some holes… The paparazzi would also have used drones, and even flown over the home of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in a helicopter.

This announcement is therefore a first victory for the couple, who are determined to apply zero tolerance for intrusions into their private lives. And it is no coincidence that the Sussex couple have set their sights on a stunning Montecito mansion, ideally located in a high-profile, high-profile neighborhood.
