It is no secret that relations between Princes William and Harry have deteriorated since Meghan Markle joined the royal family. Despite the efforts of the Sussex and Cambridge couples to get along, the tide has never turned, especially between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
Tensions between the two brothers grew so great that Prince Harry made the difficult decision to retire from his royal duties to live in Los Angeles with his family, further widening the gap between him and his older brother. However, according to a source close to the British Crown, Harry and William have been burying the hatchet for the past few weeks, to concentrate on a project that is very close to their hearts, the unveiling of a statue of Princess Diana.
A long-standing project that is expected to be completed by this summer, and which would have allowed the two brothers to put water in their wine to honour their mother’s memory. “Whatever happened between them, they will do everything possible to make this project a reality.
It would be wrong to say that their relationship has been totally repaired, but 2020 has forced them to exchange on several occasions”, confided our source. Then he added: “They are focusing on their family and this allows them to move forward, and although there is still a lot of work to be done on their relationship, they are moving in the right direction”. When he was no longer speaking to his brother, Prince William immediately picked up the phone when he learned of Meghan Markle’s miscarriage, which the Duchess had mentioned in a long column for the New York Times. It was a tragedy that allowed them to renew their broken ties, whereas a few months earlier, William and Harry had already briefly reconnected to support their father Prince Charles, who had tested positive at Covid-19.
