Married to Meghan Markle for almost three years, Prince Harry is a man very much in love. If his word is rare, it is on the occasion of an interview granted to James Corden that the father of little Archie revealed how he fell in love with the ex-star of the series Suits.
After many months in hiding, it was on November 8, 2016 that Kensington Palace officially announced Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle. In the space of five years, the couple married, had their first child, moved to Canada and then to the United States, and are preparing to become parents for the second time in the coming months. While the couple is discreet, it was during an interview with James Corden in Los Angeles that Prince Harry was able to share a few things about his meeting with his wife.
Relaxed, Prince William’s brother explained: “On the second date, I started to think there was something special. We were super comfortable with each other. Going out with me, or any other member of the royal family, I guess, can be quite unsettling. All of our dates were at home, where we had dinner, watched TV and talked. Then finally, once you become a couple, you venture out to restaurants and movies and everything else.”
Apparently very much in love, Prince Harry explained: “It almost became a matter of course. We’ve spent a lot of time just the two of us, rather than going out to dinner with friends or out with lots of people. So there were no distractions and it was great. It was an incredible thing, and then it accelerated in the first couple of months.” While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to be involved in associations, the young dad said, “That’s our life – my life will always be about public service. And Meghan has signed up and we both love doing that. Trying to bring a little compassion and trying to make people happy and trying to change the world in every little way we can.”

At ease with the host, the Duke of Sussex also agreed to talk about why he had withdrawn from the royal family. “We all know what the British press can look like, and it was destroying my sanity. So I did what any husband and father would do, I said to myself, I have to get my family out of here,” he explained, before adding, “They never went away. When I chose to leave, it was to take a step back rather than quit. (…) There was a really difficult environment as I think a lot of people saw it.
