Prince Harry: He confides in us about his anxious return to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral

Prince Harry confided about his return to the UK for the funeral of Prince Philip in his documentary series The Me You Can’t See. His words were revealed by the Daily Mail this Friday, May 21.

He made some confidences. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle left the royal family in January 2020 and since then, the couple seems much freer. They do not hesitate to string together the sometimes shocking revelations and deliver themselves with an open heart. On April 9, Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99. His funeral took place on April 17, in St. George’s Chapel. For the occasion, it was without his wife that he went there.

In his documentary series The Me You Can’t See, Archie’s dad talked about his return to the UK. “I was worried about going back, it made me anxious”, he first admits. The reason? Media pressure, as the tabloid reports. Indeed, these were transmitted on live television and the royal family was followed by many cameras. A moment during which the Duke of Sussex felt “trapped” but which, as he said, was “a way for me to manage my anxiety.” While he revealed that he has been in therapy for several months, he said that it “made this return easier but my heart was beating very fast anyway,” concludes Prince Harry.

Last March, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had given an interview to Oprah Winfrey. During it, he had not hesitated to talk about the lack of support from the royal family. In his documentary series The Me You Can’t See, the Duke of Sussex took the opportunity to again deliver his own testimony and did not spare the Windsor clan. Indeed, he holds them responsible for the psychological problems encountered with his wife before the Megxit.

“I thought my family would help me, but all requests, requests, signals have met with silence or total indifference,” he lamented before admitting to feeling “abandoned by my loved ones but also trapped.” Thus, if the couple made the choice to leave the royal family, it is mainly because they wanted to focus on their well-being. A departure that was very badly perceived by Buckingham. “When I made this decision for my family, I was still told, ‘You can’t do this,’ and I asked them, ‘How bad does it have to get for me to be allowed to do this?’ Meghan was going to end her life, it didn’t have to come to that,” he concluded.

Therapy to get better

In this series-documentary, Prince Harry did not hesitate to be very transparent. After talking about the desire for suicide of his wife and his reaction, which he is now very ashamed, he did not hesitate to mention his thearapy sessions, which do him the greatest good. “For me, therapy allowed me to be able to face everything. I knew if I didn’t go, I could lose this woman I want to spend the rest of my life with,” he says. The couple, who now live in Los Angeles, are much more fulfilled and are about to welcome their second child.
