Meghan Markle’s absence from Charles III’s coronation: the humiliation she couldn’t bear…

On Wednesday 12 April, the Mirror revealed new information about Meghan Markle’s absence from the coronation of King Charles III. According to a royal expert, Prince Harry’s wife did not appreciate a previous humiliation by the royal family.

The announcement is out. Since the death of Elizabeth II on 8 September, the coronation of King Charles III has been on everyone’s lips. The reason for this is that an impressive – and historic – ceremony is being prepared… However, as far as the guest list is concerned, many people were waiting to find out whether Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would be present on 6 May. A question that is now over as the royal palace has recently indicated that only the son of the sovereign will be present.

The Duchess of Sussex preferred to decline the invitation in order to stay in the United States with her children, Archie – who will celebrate his fourth birthday that day – and Lilibet. But is this the real reason for her absence? According to the confidences made by an expert to the Mirror on Wednesday 12 April, everything leads us to believe that the wife of Prince Harry has still not digested a previous humiliation. “For a girl who makes a big deal of the table she has in a restaurant, it would be a terrible insult not to have one of the front seats at the coronation ceremony,” said Ingrid Seward, the editor of Majesty magazine. To add to that possibility, the disgrace of being excluded from the Buckingham Palace balcony queue was more than she could bear.”

Meghan’s absence: a terrible decision for Archie?

Also with the Mirror, Ingrid Seward then shared her thoughts on the repercussions of Meghan Markle’s choice – not to attend the coronation of Charles III. While Kate and William, as well as Queen Camilla, would be relieved by the decision, the royal expert felt that it could impact young Archie. “The real loser is little Archie,” she said. How exciting it would have been to see the soldiers, carriages and horses of his grandfather’s armies. What a shame he was denied the opportunity, however difficult it was for his parents.”
