Meghan Markle: What she has in common with Melania Trump

0

On Saturday 10th October, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were invited to a podcast, focusing on mental health. On this occasion, the Duchess made a confession… which astonishingly brings her closer to Melania Trump.

For years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been involved in the fight for mental health, a cause that is very close to their hearts. This Saturday, October 10, both participated in Teenager Therapy, a podcast hosted by five California high school students.

For several minutes, the royal couple chatted with the young podcasters on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. During their discussion, the Duchess of Sussex talked about the many comments she had received before she left the British monarchy and royal family. “I have been told that in 2019 I was the most trollised person in the world, man and woman included,” she explained, reports L’Express.

Meghan Markle added: “And eight months of that year, I wasn’t even visible. I was on maternity leave or with a baby. But what is assembled from scratch or manufactured is almost insurmountable. It’s so huge that you can’t imagine what it feels like. It doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 25 years old, if people say things about you that aren’t true, it has a devastating impact on your emotional health.”

A difficult position to bear

This difficult position of being the most harassed person of the year, in 2018, was held by Melania Trump. At the time, the First Lady explained to ABC News: “I can say that I am the most harassed person in the world”, before adding: “You should see what people say about me”.

“I would like people to focus on what I do, not what I wear,” she continued. Both wives of great men, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry and US President Donald Trump, Meghan Markle and Melania Trump are both constantly in the spotlight. An undeniably difficult role to play.
