Meghan Markle, who has been living in California for several months, spoke about Megxit and its distance from the royal family. A decision which she felt was best for her, Prince Harry, and their son Archie.
Not sure the Windsor family would appreciate this barely concealed little tackle. In March 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry relinquished their senior memberships in the British Royal Family to embark on a new life across the Atlantic, far away from Buckingham Palace. And while it took time for everyone to digest this somewhat unprecedented decision within the monarchy, for the Duchess of Sussex it was undoubtedly the “best decision” to make.
“Sometimes making the best decision for you and your family may not be the most popular decision,” she said in an interview with the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit, which was covered by The Mirror. For Prince Harry’s wife, there seems to be no doubt that the move was necessary for the couple and their little Archie.
“When you really know who you are and what your belief system is, […] if you live knowing the truth, no matter what others say, you can go to sleep,” she said, adding that sometimes you have to go into the unknown, even if it’s scary. “My faith is greater than my fear,” she concluded.
Meghan Markle megalomaniac?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle never really explained the reasons for their departure from the royal family. Many things seem to explain it, such as the frosty reception received by the Duchess among the Windsor family, the relentless press against them, or the impression that they did not find their place within the royal family.
But for Lady Colin Campbell, this departure was mainly due to Meghan Markle’s desire to do “all sorts of things in America that she was strictly forbidden to do as a royal. And thus become, “the most famous person in the world”.
