More committed than ever, Meghan Markle made a high-profile television appearance with Prince Harry at this year’s Top 100 Most Influential People of the Year event. And for the occasion, the Duchess had opted for a very autumnal outfit.

First TV appearance for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. On Tuesday, September 22, the Top 100 Most Influential People of the Year rankings were revealed on television during a special evening broadcast on ABC, which coincidentally or not, fell on the same day as National Voter Registration Day. On this occasion, Americans were invited to register to vote in the upcoming presidential elections. And Meghan Markle issued a call for votes.

Alongside Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex reiterated the importance of going to the polls on November 3, explaining that when we vote, “our values are put into action and our voices are heard”.

“Your voice reminds you that you matter, because you do and you deserve to be heard,” she said. Sitting in her backyard from her Montecito home, Markle chose a fall look for this appearance, wearing black pants and a brown shirt. And at her feet, her eternal black pumps, which she wears for all occasions.

After joining the Windsor family, Meghan Markle was under no obligation to make her opinions known and was expected to remain politically neutral. “Meghan Markle came home to vote,” said Gloria Steinem of the Duchess. At his wife’s side, Prince Harry admitted to her that he had never voted in the United Kingdom, and that if he could not vote for the American presidential elections either, because he is a British citizen, he explained, and reminded her, how vital it is “that we reject hate speech, disinformation and negativity online”.
