Meghan Markle: Her unexpected confidences on the birth of Lilibet Diana

1

For the first time, Meghan Markle confides on her role as a mother of two children. By talking about her own experience, the duchess hopes to attract the attention of the country’s leaders and improve the living conditions of parents across the Atlantic.

Meghan Markle is breaking the silence. Four months after giving birth to her second child, Lilibet Diana, the American actress talks for the first time about the difficulties she and Prince Harry face with their offspring, in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, reported by the Daily Express. In the course of her story, Meghan Markle sheds her royal persona to advocate for paid time off for American parents, backing up her point with the difficulties of being a modern parent: “The working mother or parent is faced with the conflict of being present or being paid. The sacrifice of either comes at a high cost.”

While Meghan and Harry are “overwhelmed” by the birth of Lilibet Diana, the Duchess admits that they were “overwhelmed” and “overwhelmed” by the arrival of this second child: “Like all parents, we were very happy. Like many parents, we were overwhelmed. Like fewer parents, we were not faced with the harsh reality of choosing between spending those critical first months with our baby or going back to work.” Well aware that they are privileged, Meghan Markle is using her fame to advocate for American parents. “We knew we could bring her home. […] That we wouldn’t have to make impossible choices about childcare, work and medical care, like so many others have to do every day,” she details.

Discreet parents

If at the birth of Archie in 2019, Meghan and Harry lent themselves to the games of the media, revealing the face of the little boy at an official press conference, they decided to act differently for their little girl. Since moving to California, the Sussexes have been keeping a low profile. And although the curious are eagerly awaiting a snapshot of Lilibet Diana, Meghan and Harry prefer to keep her away from the media hype.

  1. I’m really exhausted watching these fools flooding the press all over the world while declared they want privacy. Give them privacy, space and a lot less of our time in the UK. Passed caring about the said family wrecking soup opera dram pinocchio ☺️
