King Charles III landed in Bucharest on Friday 2 June for a private visit to Romania. This coincided with Prince Harry’s arrival in the UK.
The Express reports that King Charles III is currently in Romania on a private visit. The monarch landed in Bucharest on Friday 2 June for a solo private visit. He is said to be planning to visit his Transylvanian bolthole to recharge his batteries. The father of Princes William and Harry began his trip with an official bilateral meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. This move suggests that the King is seeking to avoid meeting his son, Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex is due to return to the UK next week.
It should be remembered that King Charles III and his son, Prince Harry, have not seen much of each other since the Sussexes left for the US. Recently, Meghan Markle’s husband made a brief visit to the kingdom to attend his father’s coronation. But father and son were unable to spend any time together, presumably because of the King’s busy schedule. Suffice to say, the series of high-profile interviews, the Sussexes’ Netflix docu-series and Prince Harry’s Spare memoirs didn’t help matters.
Prince Harry: are King Charles and Prince William avoiding him?
According to Express, the King and the Prince of Wales have no shortage of excuses to avoid confronting the Duke of Sussex. Last March, Archie and Lilibet’s father made a surprise appearance at the High Court in London. However, it was announced that the King was too busy to meet his son. As for Prince William, he was away with all his family for the school holidays. Although the three men met at the coronation on 6 May, interaction was almost non-existent. After all, Prince Harry was sitting far away from his brother. The two princes also came and went from Westminster Abbey separately.
