Prince Harry’s worried dad: He reveals his big fear about Archie and Lilibet Diana

Committed against the abuses of the Internet, Prince Harry participated in the Global Child Online Safety Toolkit webinar, this Monday May 16. Worried for the future of his children Archie and Lilibet, Meghan Markle’s husband asked for the vote of new laws to fight against the traps of the web.

More than once, Prince Harry has committed himself to the ecology or mental health. This Monday, May 16, Meghan Markle’s companion spoke out against the excesses of social networks and the harmful effects on young people, reports The Guardian. On the occasion of the launch of the Global Child Online Safety Toolkit webinar, from the 5Rights Foundation, the father of Archie and Lilibet shared his fears for the future of his children. “As parents, my wife and I are concerned that the next generation is growing up in a world where they are treated as a digital experience for companies to make money and where things like hate and harm are sort of normalized,” said Elizabeth II’s grandson.

If his children are still too young to have access to the Internet and its excesses, he hoped that the day they are old enough to have a profile on social networks things will have changed. “We want all children to feel able to express themselves and demand change. We are at a critical moment where we all need to be together for children to thrive in the digital world,” Prince Harry continued. Before adding: “My two little ones are still at the age of innocence. Sometimes I feel like I can keep them away forever from those dangers on the Internet that they might encounter in the future.

Worried, Prince Harry asks for the vote of a “new law”

According to him, social networks “do not work” and their use must be “corrected”. A statement that he continued: “I am not an expert in law or technology, but I am a father (…). My children are still too young to experience the online world, but I hope they never have to experience it the way it is now. No child should have to. Saying it is “unrealistic to protect our children from everything”, Prince Harry called for a “new law” to combat the harmful effects of the Internet.

This is not the first time the Duke of Sussex has spoken out on the subject. In a long article for Fast Company, in 2020, Prince Harry expressed his fears about the impact of social networks. At the time, he lamented the inaction of major groups against misinformation, hate speech and incitement to violence. As Hello Magazine reported, he recalled in his column: “The Internet has the power to affirm and support as well as harm, but we are not meant to destroy each other; we are meant to build each other up. Prince Harry and Meghan are all the more committed to this cause as they have often been the target of negative comments.

  2. I support Prince Harry statements. He spoke the facts. Media must be controlled to express so much hate speech towards targeted human beings. Because no one has judgement in this World but only God. For the sake of children as well, its good to monitoring media because its where they trap children’s for kidnapping and lot of other bad things. .
