Elizabeth II’s Jubilee: This new event where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were conspicuous by their absence

0

Present in England for the Queen’s Jubilee, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were conspicuous by their absence at an important event organized in honor of Elizabeth II, Friday June 3. Among the members of the royal family, they were the only ones missing!

It is the great return of the Sussex couple. Arrived in the United Kingdom, Wednesday, June 1, to attend the celebrations of the jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are since extremely discreet. Between their modest appearances and their absences from major events, the couple seems not to find its place … On the first day of the festivities, Thursday, June 2, the parents of Lilibet and Archie were indeed present at the great military parade Trooping the Colour. If they were not invited to join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham, next to the sovereign, they were seen at a window of the palace.

The Duke and Duchess, without their children, also went to the mass in honor of the seventy years of Elizabeth II’s reign, celebrated at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on Friday, June 3. Between the whistles of the public at the entrance of the building, the total ignorance of Princes Charles and William, and their reserved seats opposite those of the close family of the Queen, Meghan and Harry did not receive the best of welcomes. According to Sky News, it was freezing cold in the cathedral. So much so that once the church service was over, the couple secretly retreated to their side, without going through the main door, thus escaping the photographers. And while a lunch was organized after the mass in honor of the monarch, they were not present.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not at the Guidhall family lunch

The reception, called the Guildhall, was organized by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. The Windsor clan was almost complete. Princes Charles and William, accompanied by their wives, Camilla Parker Bowles and Kate Middleton, Prince Edward and his wife, as well as their four children, Duke Edward of Kent, Princess Alexandra of Kent, Prince Michael of Kent and his wife, or Duke Richard of Gloucester, all attended. All except Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who immediately returned to Frogmore Cottage, a residence in Windsor Park where they are staying during the Jubilee celebrations.
